The body is well-ised, with lots of brassing and some nicks and scratches. It's not a collector's item, but could make a good user. Comes with the original slip on cap - someone covered over the Vivitar logo with masking tape a long time ago - I haven't tried to take it off. Comes with a rear cap - not sure if it's generic or original.

According to the scale it doesn't quite get to infinity, but in my tests it seems to actually focus there, the scale is just slightly wrong. As far as I can tell the lens is optically fine though. Comes with the original metal screw-in lens hood. Also comes with generic pinch front cap and generic read cap.

I have put in batteries and tested that it fires via the test button. I have not tested the sync cord as I don't know the trigger voltage and I don't want to risk frying my dSLR.

The head should hold up a compact camera fine - it will hold up an SLR as long as it's not too far off-axis. If you tilt the SLR very far up/down, or into portrait orientation, the head won't hold it.

The legs collapse into the black handle, so it's about that size for transport. The head should hold up a compact camera fine - it will hold up an SLR as long as it's not too far off-axis. If you tilt the SLR very far up/down, or into portrait orientation, the head won't hold it. Note, the K1000 pictured is already sold. This photo is for the tripod only.
